Choti Mada (Bisanpura Female)
Choti mada (also known as Bisanpura female) is a very calm and friendly individual although is only seen around other tigers on rare occasions. She is particularly comfortable with elephants.
Choti mada, daughter of Chain Male and Badi Female and sister of Gollu, was born in 2008 in Kanha.
She is a relatively solitary character and enjoys roaming her territory, which is based around the Bisanpura Meadow. She is named after the village area in which she was born; Choti mada e is generous both with other tigers and with people. She has a very calm temperament and is rarely tetchy.
Despite being a fairly average size, she can be identified by the ‘L’ shape on her left rear thigh (but this is found on all close relatives) and the second and third bands on her tail look like a bow followed by some lips.
Although rarely being seen around other tigers we think she may have had a cub around 2010, which unfortunately did not survive. However she gave birth during the 2012 monsoon to 4 cubs. The father and the sex of these cubs are not yet known, but increasingly being seen around Kanha in late 2013.

They included Tarun Bhati, Jehan Bhujwala and Eric D’Cunha, together with Vinod Ayam, Ashish Bais, Rajan Gurung, Kaustabh Mulay, Rahim, Nan Singh and Ashok. Chandrabal Singh (aka Ben) also contributed much.
